Stop Biting Your Nails Today!
For me it was far worse than just biting my nails, it was my cuticles as well. I mean to the point I would bleed and i still wouldn't even be able to stop picking. It obviously was due to my stress and anxiety but, how did I stop?
First Step: Eliminate what stresses you, what triggers your anxiety. Also 7 years of visual merchandising really took a toll on my hands!
Second Step: Start taking care of yourself!
I found products that motivated me to not bite my nails. I also swear by these products. I like to make my own beauty products, but if I am going to buy anything it would be these products.
- Burt's Bee's- Almond & Milk Hand Cream
- Burt's Bee's- Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
- Sally Hansen- Advanced Hard as Nails Strengthener
- Revlon- Nail Filer
Step Three: Develop a system. For me, when I had the urge to bite my nails I would moisturize my hands. Without flaky skin, hangnails or cuticles lifting I wouldn't have the urge to bite.
This is the amount needed of both hands! And even this is a generous amount. I then apply the nail strengthener. When your nails are dry finish with the hand cream.
I do this entire ritual once a week.
After three months this is how my nails look now...
I never thought I could have decent looking nails, or ever be able to stop biting my nails, but its possible!
