Puff Ball Rug

Its Rug day! 
Im so relieved I'm done, my elbow hurts from all the puff ball making lol


Heres how I made this rug...

Step 1: Make the puff balls
(You can look at my previous post to see how I made the puff balls)

Step 2: Gather your backing

I got this backing at a thrift store

Step 3: Create a draft of the ready to use puff balls on a flat surface

Step 4: Cut the backing to your desired length

Step 5: Attach the puff balls
Poke the long pieces of yarn, through the weaved holes a couple of spaces apart and then tie them tight in the back.
Continue to attach all puff balls... If it turns out you need more simply make some more! The more you attach the less gaps you will have in-between!

And Viola!
Attaching these puff balls doesn't take nearly as long as it does to make each puff ball!



My daughter was super excited to try it out!!

El Ojo De Dios

History of "el ojo de dios" Originating in the Americas these "God's eyes" as protection charms and a talisman of, the better known , third eye. A powerful symbol of understanding unseen things. Huichol indians created these woven pieces of art to put on their alters. A traditional "God's eye" has 4 points representing the 4 elements, earth, fire, and water. To weave a "God's eye" one is putting their own energy and prayers to create a physical object to forever be a representation these intentions. They are often used to protect children. How do you experience your higher self? It has been through my art!  This year, from day 1, which started out as an endless roller coaster, had me feeling lost and unhappy. I hadn't been or felt myself in years. Reflecting upon this I thought,  "When did I  loose myself and how can I experience my higher self again?" That question is extremely complex...
